Generation AI: Schools in Asia rely on artificial intelligence

Anaiya Singhvi loves school, but chemistry is often difficult for her.

“It’s difficult to imagine in real life because it involves molecules and atoms,” said the Singapore-based student.

The 15-year-old uses generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools like Google’s Notebook LM to explain concepts, summarize documents and answer her questions when she studies at home.

“It really was a lifesaver for short-term questions, especially before exams.”

she said.

Singapore is one of several Asian countries rapidly adopting AI in education.

At Saint Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School, where Anaiya studies, the chemistry department uses AI to help students identify topics they should focus on based on their incorrect answers in practice exams.
