Paula Hurd recognizes donation from co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates during the dedication of the Mark and Paula Hurd NCR Archive Center, which will preserve many of the historical documents related to NCR.
Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and now a billionaire philanthropist, attended Dayton History’s dedication of the Mark and Paula Hurd NCR Archive Center, a comprehensive corporate archive of what was once one of Dayton’s most influential corporations.
“NCR and Microsoft worked together on a very early project,” Gates said, referencing an early type of data-entry terminal.
Microsoft’s connection with NCR continued in the following decades, including working together on the development of Windows NT Server at its inception in 1992
