Anthropic has appointed the former local head of American software company Snowflake as its first Australian general manager, where he will be tasked with setting up operations and negotiating with the Albanian government to set up local data centers.
The company said Theo Hourmouzis started with the company on Monday, and his appointment was announced shortly after co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei visited Australia to open its local offices and meet with the government to discuss the potential for data center investment.
