Woolworths will become the country’s first supermarket retailer to enable artificial intelligence agents to shop for customers after it struck a deal with Google to use its Gemini platform in its chatbot.
The agreement will allow Woolworths’ chatbot, known as Olive, to go beyond answering basic customer queries and instead plan meals and automatically add items to online shopping carts with their consent.
