- Our recent survey of 81,000 Claude users shows that people working in roles with greater exposure to AI are more concerned about job displacement caused by AI. These concerns are also greater among respondents who are early in their careers.
- Those in the highest and lowest paid occupations report the greatest increases in productivity, most often through expanding scope (doing new tasks).
- Respondents experiencing the greatest acceleration from AI express greater concern about job displacement.
To inform the public about the economic changes we are seeing with AI, our economic index shares which jobs Claude should do and in which jobs Claude does the majority of the tasks. However, until now we have lacked information about how these usage patterns impact people’s thoughts and impressions about AI.
