Oracle Health has expanded its Clinical AI Agent beyond environmental documentation to actively support the creation of clinical orders during patient visits. Using the ambient listening feature, the AI can now automatically create prescriptions, lab tests, imaging orders, referrals and follow-up appointments in real time, transforming the tool from passive note taking to an active clinical workflow assistant.

Unlike traditional speech-to-text systems, the Oracle agent applies semantic reasoning to understand the clinical context. It analyzes patient history, previous orders, physician “favorites,” and organizational standards to suggest appropriate dosages, testing, and follow-up. For example, when a doctor mentions a medication, the system deduces the likely dose, frequency and preferred pharmacy and structures the information in an easy-to-view order rather than plain text. It also records next steps discussed in the conversation, such as: B. scheduling future visits and automatically queues them.
