Nvidia wants a slice of the Windows PC motherboard, not just the graphics card slot bolted onto it. On September 3, 2026, Tom’s Hardware reported that Nvidia’s first Arm-based system-on-chip built for mainstream Windows machines, the RTX Spark N1X, will ship inside laptops and compact desktops starting in October 2026. The chip pairs an 18-core or 20-core Grace CPU with a Blackwell GPU carrying either 5,120 or 6,144 CUDA cores, all sharing a single pool of memory that scales up to 128GB. It is the clearest sign yet that Nvidia intends to compete directly with Apple, Qualcomm, AMD, and Intel for the entire PC, not just the discrete graphics slot.
