U.S. semiconductor stocks moved lower on Tuesday as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East weighed on global markets, following coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
Shares of Nvidia NVDA fell about 3%, while Advanced Micro Devices AMD declined roughly 4%. Broadcom
AVGO slipped nearly 3%, and Qualcomm
QCOM edged down about 2%.
Memory and storage names also retreated. Micron Technology MU dropped around 6% in early trading. Western Digital
WDC fell nearly 5%, while Seagate Technology (STX) slid about 4%.
Foundry and processor makers saw similar pressure. Intel INTC and GlobalFoundries
GFS each declined about 4%. Marvell Technology (MRVL) lost nearly 4%, while Analog Devices
ADI and Texas Instruments
TXN edged lower.
The pullback comes as investors assess potential risks to global supply chains and energy markets amid the escalating conflict, factors that could influence semiconductor demand and production costs.
