Broadcom has consolidated its position as the premier architect of customized AI processors by extending its design partnership with Meta, which, according to its CEO Mark Zuckerberg, is laying the compute foundation of delivering personal superintelligence to billions of people. The first phase of this tie-up, extending to 2029, aims to deliver over 1 gigawatt (GW) of computing capacity, enough to power roughly 750,000 U.S. homes.
Broadcom, in addition to its collaboration with Anthropic and Google for custom AI accelerators, has extended its multi-year, multi-generation strategic partnership for the development of Meta Training and Inference Accelerator (MTIA) chips. Broadcom provides deep engineering co-design expertise built around its XPU platform to tightly couple logic, memory, and high-speed I/O in MTIA chips.
