My week of literally eating AI slop

Just thinking about AI gives me a bad taste. At worst, it pollutes water, spreads misinformation, eats up jobs and exploits the cracks in broken systems. Most irritatingly, AI is taking all the fun out of our hobbies and flooding our social media feeds with AI-generated content that is becoming increasingly difficult to detect. These low-quality, large-scale AI-generated posts, better known as AI slop, are mostly just absurd, like something out of a dystopia America’s Funniest Home Videos – a lion and a dog flipping the bird, an alligator bringing back a human baby – but sometimes they make it into our real offline lives in really stupid ways.
