Microsoft is bringing back a product that has been absent from its lineup for nearly a decade. At Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii, the company introduced a second-generation Surface Mouse, a device that pairs a familiar ambidextrous shape with modern haptic technology and a price tag of $79.99.
The original Surface Mouse launched in November 2016 alongside the Surface Studio. Now, almost ten years later, Microsoft has redesigned the peripheral from the ground up, replacing traditional mechanical switches with capacitive touch and pressure sensors. Built-in motors deliver force feedback to confirm clicks, an approach the company says reduces moving parts and improves durability.
