Microsoft offers buyouts to 60,000 workers as AI spending grows

Microsoft said it is offering voluntary buyouts to about 60,000 employees across the Northwest as the company puts more money into artificial intelligence.

The Redmond-based tech company said the buyouts came as it increased spending on artificial intelligence. Microsoft was also scheduled to report earnings on Wednesday.
