LG Electronics plans to unveil a new in-car artificial intelligence platform at CES 2026 as the Korean group pushes deeper into software and computing for next-generation vehicles.
The AI Cabin Platform will be featured in a digital cockpit demonstration at LG’s private showcase in Las Vegas. The system runs on powerful automotive computing hardware and uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Elite chip.
LG describes the AI Cabin Platform as a step towards the so-called AI-Defined Vehicle (AIDV). The concept follows the industry trend toward software-defined vehicles, where key functions depend on upgradable software running on shared computing platforms.
Generative AI in cars
The new platform applies multiple types of generative AI models in the car. These include vision language models, large language models, and image generation systems.
