McKinsey candidates can now practice their interview problem-solving with AI before facing the real thing.
In April, the global consulting firm launched an AI tool designed to help candidates prepare for interviews — and ideally save them from feeling like they have to pay for expensive consulting coaches.
“The tool is available globally to those applying for entry-level positions within the company – typically business analyst and associate positions,” Marie Christine Padberg, co-head of global talent acquisition at McKinsey, told Business Insider.
The AI practice tool gives applicants unlimited attempts at the quantitative case study they will face in their interview, a hypothetical business scenario similar to the work they might do as a McKinsey consultant.
Padberg said the tool helps McKinsey “democratize” preparation by giving everyone the same starting point and access to the full spectrum of preparation at no cost.
