King’s Counsel, aides sent to disciplinary authorities over AI errors

A King’s counsel, his junior counsel and their instructing attorney were referred to state legal professional disciplinary boards for further investigation after their court filings identified “hallucinations” involving artificial intelligence and because they failed to adequately explain how they occurred.

The instructing attorney, who blamed her paralegal for the incident and later fired him, was also ordered to pay $10,000 to the opposing party for costs incurred in correcting the errors caused by AI.
