On October 14, Alessandro Curioni, Vice President for Europe and Africa at IBM, warned that organizations are still not adequately prepared for the security risks posed by quantum computing.

This expert estimates that currently less than 10% of organizations globally have achieved “quantum security” against the risk of this high-speed technology being exploited to crack cryptographic systems and conduct large-scale cyberattacks.

Speaking on the sidelines of an IBM conference in London, Curioni expressed concern about the potential repercussions for the entire internet, blockchain technology, banks, financial contracts, and digital signatures. He predicted that malicious actors might target financial institutions first, then spread to other industries and banks.

According to Curioni, the benefits of quantum computing are enormous. When combined with the abstract thinking capabilities of AI, this technology can simulate and solve extremely complex physics problems, helping to develop…
