Failed AI startup founder pleads for mercy and points to anxiety issues

A lengthy prison sentence for the former chief executive of failed artificial intelligence marketing start-up Metigy could stem from his use of stolen funds to buy two luxury residential properties in one of Sydney’s wealthiest suburbs and another near the Southern Highlands.

In November, David Fairfull, co-founder of Metigy in 2015, admitted to one count of making false and misleading statements in misleading investors who put $15.7 million into stock in a $50 million capital raising in 2021.
