Essential Energy is preparing to deploy a new AI application to help identify safety issues across its distribution network more quickly and accurately.
The utility, which operates a network serving 900,000 regional and remote locations in New South Wales and southern Queensland, said the new AI system uses algorithms to analyze notes taken by its field staff on iPads and identify patterns that can be used to generate safety insights.
