JD Vance, the US vice president, agreed that it was “completely unacceptable” for platforms like X to allow the spread of AI-generated sexualised images of women and children, David Lammy told the Guardian.

The deputy prime minister said Vance, usually known as an AI enthusiast, expressed concern at their meeting in Washington on Thursday about how the technology was being used to fuel “hyper-pornographic crap” on the internet.
