The trust gap is closing

A study published in April by the University of Melbourne and KPMG found that while 50 percent of Australians regularly use AI, only 36 percent trust it, a sign of national caution. But when you look specifically at business leaders, the mood changes dramatically.

A new study commissioned by Airwallex, due to be published later this month, suggests Australian leaders are far more optimistic about the potential of AI. In fact, 91 percent of business decision-makers believe the greater risk lies not in adopting AI but in delaying it, citing operational costs, competitiveness and productivity as the areas most at stake.

Finance is a key area where AI is being used. For years, institutional banking and manual oversight were synonymous with corporate trust.
