Indian Startup News on Instagram: “Cisco President Jeetu Patel picked 27-year-old Gen Z engineer Padmanabhan Krishnamurthy to lead a project aimed at rewriting 98% of the company’s legacy code within 24 months.Patel saw the initiative as an opportunity for younger employees to challenge established practices, even when working alongside colleagues with decades of experience.Krishnamurthy joined Cisco in 2025 following its acquisition of EzDubs, a real-time translation startup he had co-founded in 2023.Despite previously serving as a founder and CEO, Krishnamurthy was working five levels below Patel.During a visit to Cisco’s San Francisco office, he proposed that a two-person team could rewrite the company’s legacy software. The project had a four-week window to demonstrate the approach, with a 98% target over two years.“I’ve given him unlimited tokens because he’s going to refactor code,” Patel said.“Tension is good,” he added, advocating friction over ideas, not people.#cisco #sanfrancisco #engineers #employees #startups #indianstartupnews”
