An example of this is Atturra’s tertiary customers. A university often comes to the IT service provider and asks them to help with student retention.

“The end result of this is that we help the university ensure that a student doesn’t fail by using data to inform them of their assignment,” Frost explained. “Previously I would have said I need some BI (business intelligence) reports to tell me what my churn is. Now they want to know how to stop churn before it happens.”

This is the value of data processing, such as informing a student that their assignment is due and providing a notification if they have not opened the assignment. Being proactive empowers the student before attrition occurs, he said.

Governance for data AI readiness

With data transformation, implementing automation and business processes becomes the next logical step, as in the example of Atturra’s university customer.
