Anthropic shuts down latest AI models after US crackdown

Washington | Anthropic has suspended its cutting-edge AI models after the Trump administration issued an unprecedented order not to put the technology in the hands of all foreigners, citing national security concerns.

The U.S. government asked Anthropic to block all foreigners’ access to the Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models “whether inside or outside the United States,” citing national security concerns, the company said in a statement.
