SHREVEPORT, La. – Amazon Web Services hosted a community open house Tuesday in Shreveport to give residents a chance to learn more about the company’s planned data center investment and ask questions about its potential impact on water, energy and the surrounding community.
AWS economic development Vice President Roger Wehner said the event was designed to give residents direct access to experts involved in the project.
“When any major economic development project happens, particularly of this size and magnitude, people always have questions. We love that. This gives us an opportunity to be transparent with the community,” said Wehner.
Residents asked questions about how much water the data centers will use.
