The AI Plan aims to improve service delivery, policy outcomes and productivity while maintaining public trust. This article provides a general summary of the AI Plan and identifies key legal considerations for Commonwealth agencies implementing the AI Plan.
AI plan summary
The AI plan is built on three pillars:
- Trust: Maintain transparency and implement ethical safeguards to ensure public trust in the use of AI in the APS. This includes providing guidance and communications to the APS on the use of AI in government, updating the Policy on the Responsible Use of AI in Government, and establishing an AI Review Board to identify systemic risks and strengthen guidance for Commonwealth agencies.
