Parents tend to advise their children to acquire more practical skills in the wake of artificial intelligence (AI), according to a study.
Motor parts retailer Halfords has found that 89% of parents have changed the advice they give their children about careers. Compared to two years ago, half are now recommending their children focus on practical skills as AI changes career paths.
Henry Birch, CEO of Halfords, said its research showed parents recognize this reality. “They fear that AI could impact their children’s careers, and they are rediscovering the importance of combining digital literacy with real-world problem-solving skills,” he said.
