Make no mistake, Trump will not regulate AI
Any prediction that Donald Trump will slow the rapid development of artificial intelligence for security reasons is ridiculous at this point.
He issued a watered-down model review executive order last week and another calling on the U.S. military to accelerate its adoption of AI.
Instead of curbing growth, he is considering buying stocks.
Trump said last week that his administration would “explore” taking financial stakes in the top U.S. artificial intelligence companies. Sam Altman has reportedly participated in discussions about such stock purchases with senior White House officials, suggesting that the discussions are reasonably serious.
