A major consultancy predicts 2026 will be the “year of AI disruption” in the Australian labor market and has released a list of 82 jobs at the highest risk.
Last week, Deloitte identified roles that contain a large amount of tasks that could be replicated through AI, potentially leading to fewer employees being needed in the future.
His report Employment Forecasts: The Year of AI also predicted Australia’s job growth would almost halve between 2025 and 2027 due to the overall economic situation.
The firm’s Access Economics partner David Rumbens told news.com.au that while there had already been cuts in Australia due to AI, the overall picture was not yet one of mass losses.
“We have seen some organizations announce job losses and at least partially attribute this to AI,” Mr. Rumbens said.
