Already in 2023, when Joe Biden was president and brat When Girls’ Summer was just a bright green twinkle in our eyes, I became the first person I knew to be fired for AI. As an Aquarius ascendant, I have long faced the burden of being ahead of my time.

I worked at a small animation startup backed by the usual VC suspects, where we worked with celebrities and influencers to create animated characters that lived online. There was a naughty baby doll, a dog that could cook, among other things Monster High-inspired tween.

Since in America you can do almost anything for money, my job was to manage and grow these characters’ social accounts. Once we had enough followers, we went to toy companies and publishers and said, “Look at this popular thing we made. Would you like to make it into a stuffed toy or a children’s book?” Sometimes they said yes. It turns out that there is a lot of money in children’s things.
