On a per-share basis, the Austin, Texas-based company had net income of $2.10. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $2.26 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.63 per share.
The software maker posted revenue of $16.06 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $16.15 billion.
