YouTube channels spreading fake, anti-Labour videos have racked up more than a billion views this year, as opportunists seek to capitalize on the UK’s political divide with AI-generated content.
In the last year, more than 150 channels have been discovered spreading anti-Labour narratives and completely false and inflammatory accusations about Keir Starmer.
A study seen by the Guardian found the channels have 5.3 million subscribers and have created more than 56,000 videos, with a total of almost 1.2 billion views in 2025. The network of anonymous channels includes alarmist rhetoric, AI scripts and British narrators to attract hits.
Starmer is being targeted personally. The Prime Minister was mentioned 15,600 times in either the video title or description.
