Winners of the VMware Customer Achievement Awards 2023: EMEA Region

VMware recently awarded the winners of the 2023 VMware Customer Achievement Award for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region at VMware Explore 2023 in Barcelona. The event celebrated six heroes and innovators from EMEA who have been accelerating innovation and transforming their businesses in a multi-cloud world.

Orange France, part of the Orange Group, is one of the heroes recognized for its efforts in implementing digital and sustainable transformation. The company is working on consolidating 17 existing data centers into three new energy-efficient data centers by 2030. With the help of VMware, Orange has simplified its IT environment, defined a migration strategy, and started moving workloads to the new data centers. By moving to infrastructure-as-a-service, Orange is enabling its various business units to innovate and bring new products to market more efficiently while also reducing its environmental footprint.

ARIA SpA, the in-house company of the Lombardy region in Italy, was recognized as a hero for its focus on improving the customer experience. ARIA successfully migrated critical workloads from regional hospital data centers to the cloud using VMware Cloud on AWS. This migration has led to increased sustainability, more efficient digital services, and stronger security for the hospitals.

East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) was also honored as a hero for its effective response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The trust quickly migrated to the cloud, virtualized its networks, and implemented a robust disaster recovery solution with VMware‘s help. This has enabled ELFT to provide more intensive care to patients, expand access to digital care services, and enhance patient record management.

In addition to the heroes, innovators such as Bank Julius Baer, Lloyds Banking Group, and La Poste were recognized for their visionary approaches to transforming their companies and industries. Bank Julius Baer, for example, worked with VMware Tanzu Labs to establish a culture of excellent software development, while Lloyds Banking Group focused on breaking down silos and uniting public and private cloud teams for better results in a multi-cloud environment. La Poste, on the other hand, leveraged Digital Employee Experience (DEX) technology to improve the efficiency and security of its mobile workforce.

Overall, these heroes and innovators have demonstrated remarkable dedication to driving innovation and creating value for their customers and employees. VMware‘s Customer Achievement Award program recognizes their outstanding achievements in the EMEA region and highlights the importance of accelerating digital transformation in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape.
