Why Nutanix Stock Dropped Nearly 18% Today | The Motley Fool

nutanix (NTNX 17.75%) won’t head into the Thanksgiving holiday on a high note. Shares of the hybrid cloud computing specialist took a hit on Wednesday, falling nearly 18% following the release of a disappointing quarterly results report.

A mixed start to fiscal year 2026

After the market closed on Tuesday, Nutanix released fiscal first-quarter 2026 results. The company’s revenue grew 13% year over year to $670.6 million, while net income did not conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) improved 18% to $120.9 million ($0.41 per share). Annual recurring revenue (ARRR), meanwhile, rose 18% to just under $2.3 billion.

Nutanix’s revenue fell short of analysts’ average expectation of $676.9 million. The company’s non-GAAP (adjusted) profitability met the consensus estimate.
