Artificial intelligence (AI) companies are in a “perfect storm,” experts say.

The sector is trying to control the usage and performance of its platforms while maintaining profits and is struggling with a campaign to boycott the technology.

A “QuitGPT” protest movement has been launched against OpenAI’s ChatGPT as the industry fears the Trump administration could use AI for autonomous warfare and mass surveillance.
