The “AI” doctor will see you now
“Will it hurt if I do this?”
“You seem dislocated…”
One eye: “NO! The problem is a brachial plexus sprain because you lifted that 10kg box at 2:58pm on Wednesday and didn’t eat enough, blah blah.”
“Wow, um, thanks.”
In 2035, AIs are more than just co-pilots in medicine, they have become the front line for much primary care. Gone is the early morning rush of asking a GP’s stressed-out receptionist for help. Patients now turn to their doctor’s AI to describe their symptoms. The information is quickly compared with the patient’s medical history and a preliminary diagnosis is made, allowing the human primary care physician to decide what to do next.
