The Creator can strive for perfection. But perfection is a paradox – unattainable and, I argue, undesirable. But within the folds of this paradox lies a latent truth: our inability to reach the absolute peak of our creative desires is precisely what makes work important. In short: imperfection is perfect.
This paradox is a specifically human phenomenon; Generative AI is theoretically and increasingly immune to our fallibility. Its fearless proponents sell a frictionless world in which the inefficient human creator is relieved of duty and replaced by optimized perfection – faster, cheaper, more profitable.
