Artificial intelligence has crossed a threshold in the modern workplace. It’s used for everything from helping employees manage schedules to supporting financial forecasting. A similar shift is currently taking place in research laboratories.
National initiatives to accelerate the integration of AI into science are currently booming. These include the US Genesis Mission and South Korea’s AI Co-Scientist Challenge. However, despite clear benefits, we believe that these institutional initiatives neglect important issues that pose immense risks to scientific research.
