Canadian duo Angine de Poitrine have staged a shocking takeover of the internet. Their strange look and sound offers an antidote to the formulaic pop pumped out of hit factories to feed the algorithms.
The two masked, anonymous rockers from Quebec have been in the Canadian underground for several years, but recently broke into the mainstream with a 28-minute video of a live set posted to YouTube.
Drummer Klek de Poitrine and guitarist and bassist Khn de Poitrine wear black and white polka dot costumes with papier-mâché masks with Pinocchio-sized noses.
The two describe themselves as “space-time travelers” whose instrumental songs come from the unique genre of “mantra rock, Dadaist, Pythagorean-Cubist orchestra”.
