An IntelliMake research center will be established to develop and advance AI demos and projects

DETROIT and NEW YORK, January 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Wayne State University, a leading urban public research institution, and Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), a leading provider of mission-critical technology services to enterprises, today announced a multi-year collaboration to establish the IntelliMake Research Center and Pilot Factory in Wayne State University’s James and Patricia Anderson College of Engineering. Through this collaboration, Kyndryl and Wayne State will jointly develop and demonstrate intelligent and agent-based AI manufacturing technologies on campus. host joint workshops on AI, cybersecurity and digital twins; and create demonstration pods in the IntelliMake lab.
