“We also need to look at the type of reviews we create. Podcasts, presentations or videos are much harder to fake through AI,” Fallon said.
“Using real-world contexts or life experiences is also important – things the AI doesn’t know about.
“We should also change the way we grade as teachers. Things like creativity should be taken into account, not just how well a student can memorize something.”
Fallon said the techniques not only make it harder to rely on AI, but also have a positive impact on classroom engagement.
He said teachers could then integrate forms of AI such as Google’s Notebook LM into the classroom, allowing students to ask questions and provide answers from uploaded source documents, which in turn teaches students how to properly use AI to assist.
