Gandhinagar: Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday met senior executives of Google, Micron and Perplexity AI, besides members of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), as part of the state’s promotional tour in the US ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in 2027.On the third day of the tour, Patel and a high-level delegation visited Micron and Google, holding discussions on semiconductor manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI), youth skilling and data security, according to an official statement.During his meeting with Micron chairman Sanjay Mehrotra, the company appreciated the Gujarat govt’s decision to allot 20 acres of land for its semiconductor facility in Sanand within a day. Mehrotra also praised the state govt’s proactive approach to facilitate the project and ensure that commercial production begins at the earliest.At Google, vice-president Chandu Thota briefed the Gujarat delegation on the company’s operations and expressed interest in collaborating with the state on several initiatives.
