Now available in English to everyone in the US, Canvas in AI Mode provides a dedicated, dynamic space for organizing your plans and projects over time. And Canvas is more powerful than ever, with new support for creative writing and coding tasks. Now you can design documents or create custom, interactive tools right in search.

Want some inspiration? One idea we liked from early testers was a dashboard for visualizing and tracking academic scholarship information, including all the various requirements, deadlines, and dollar amounts.

To create your own tool or dashboard, in AI mode, select the new Canvas option from the tools (+) menu and describe what you want to create. The Canvas side panel gives you a working prototype that brings together the latest information from the web and Google’s Knowledge Graph. From there, you can test the functionality, view the underlying code, and refine it with conversation tracking until it does exactly what you need.
