Unstructured data is now the limitation that determines how far AI platforms can realistically scale.
Enterprises are struggling to scale AI because unstructured data pipelines cannot deliver the latency, performance, and consistency that inference workloads demand. Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. is seeing this pressure firsthand as customers push to keep GPUs busy and simplify the way unstructured data moves in increasingly hybrid environments, according to Ed Beauvais (pictured), director of product management for AI and cloud data infrastructure at HPE.
“One of the things we hear from our enterprise customers is that it’s critical to keep GPUs busy,” Beauvais said. “One of the areas we are investing in is RDMA support and we believe customers want to see and infuse RDMA throughout the data pipeline.”
