president Donald TrumpThe new 2011 AI executive order may have avoided the heavy-handed regulation that some in Silicon Valley had feared, but it has raised a new question for investors: Who will get a seat at the table as Washington builds its regulatory framework? Border AI systems?
The order signed Tuesday gives the government 60 days to determine which border AI models fall under its new voluntary cybersecurity framework. Officials also need to identify which “trusted partners” outside the federal government could get early access to advanced AI models before they are publicly released.
