As a travel vlogger, South African Kurt Caz has never dealt with sophisticated content.
His career as an influencer began about six years ago with YouTube videos with simple but effective titles like “What’s Bologna, Italy?”
But as Caz had more travel time, his videos quickly morphed into the exploitative slogan typical of most poverty vloggers: “Don’t visit this Egyptian ghetto!” and “Dodging Guerrillas on Peru’s Deadliest Path” became the new blueprint as his views numbered in the millions.
Now that he’s built a following of around four million subscribers, Caz is flipping the script from thinly veiled travel exploitation to outright racism – with a little help from generative AI.
