For the second time this year, US TikTok creators “may experience temporary delays in publishing content,” according to TikTok US said on Tuesday on X. The problem, according to this post, is: “A“A problem with an Oracle data center.” Again.
In January, when similar problems arose with the TikTok service, users seeking to post critical content about President Trump’s immigration actions speculated that the issue was an attempt by the new, Trump-aligned owners of TikTok’s U.S.-based wing to censor non-conservative users. TikTok US denied censoring users in this way.
By all accounts, this opposition to censorship appears to have been genuine. (I don’t know about you, but there’s been a lot of anti-ICE content on my TikTok feed since that outage.) So the culprit was, and is once again, Oracle-related server issues –one of the stakeholders of the company that now owns TikTok US.
