Australian law firm Thomson Geer has renamed itself Thomsons and launched Faculti Lawyers, a specialist law firm.
Thomson Chief Executive Partner Adrian Tembel said Asia Business Law Journal that the founding of Faculti Lawyers was driven by rapid technological advances, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence (AI).
Faculti Lawyers targets institutional clients managing large portfolios of business-as-usual legal tasks where accuracy, speed and cost are of particular concern. Tembel confirmed that the practice would work with its own AI platform.
“The legal market is changing rapidly due to advances and the introduction of new technologies, particularly AI,” he said. “This means we need to focus on delivering value to our customers like never before.
“The launch of Faculti Lawyers and the technology behind it help sharpen that focus and ensure we continue to transform our value proposition as quickly as possible.”
