We have entered a fascinating moment in the history of work. For many decades, little had changed about how, where and why we work, but the COVID years have upended several of these areas at once, and now AI is doing it all again.
The rise of AI in the workplace is causing some jobs to become overloaded and others to be undermined. It will undoubtedly affect most areas of our lives. But just because it’s new doesn’t mean we have to let it run wild without imposing any rules.
I’m not talking about urgently needed laws and regulations in Australia and in the countries of origin of the AI tools to keep the models under control. I believe every employee should define their own personal rules for using this powerful new technology.
