Last week, as the company prepared to open its new Australian headquarters, OpenAI boss Sam Altman issued a stark warning to employees. The billionaire said the developer of ChatGPT was in danger of losing its crown as the world’s dominant artificial intelligence provider to its deep-pocketed rivals like Microsoft by declaring a “code red.”
