The VFX artist who claimed RuPaulis the new film Stop! The! Train! filled with “flashy” AI was doubled down after the filmmakers denied the widespread speculation.
Gloria Cook Last week, a Letterboxd review of the upcoming film went viral, claiming it features some “of the most striking uses of AI I’ve seen in a film.”
In her review, Cook pointed to the film’s credits, which lists Acme AI, which uses AI as a tool, as its top-billing VFX company.
She was one of several viewers who shared this sentiment, and a viral X post also said, “There’s a lot of AI in the new RuPaul movie.”
The speculation grew loud enough to reach her Stop! The! Train! director Adam Shankmanwho said on social media this week that the film was “man-made.”
